Taking off from the immensely popular Malaysian Association of Travel and Tour Agents (Matta) travel fair, the EON Bank Group has introduced the Matta Card for travellers.
“We would like to make this card as popular as the Matta fair,” EON Bank credit card centre head Aaron Group.
The card comes in the form of credit and prepaid cards, which carry travel-related benefits such as personal accident and medical insurance, concierge services and lounge services at the KL International Airport and Singapore’s Changi airport.
The credit card works in a similar way as most of the popular credit cards while the prepaid cards allow users to use up to the limit they had paid for, with benefits of reloads and top-ups.
Tan said applications for the cards could be made at any of the 150 EON Bank branches nationwide, adding that it would be promoted at the upcoming Matta fair.
He said the bank, which has joined forces with the association and Visa International to issue the Matta Card, has targeted to register 100,000 cardholders within the first 12 months of its launch.
The Matta fair will be held at the Putra World Trade Centre here from Sept 7 to Sept 9,2007.

a) Finally MATTA Card will be launch after a 10 month wait. Matta annouceed it last November 2006 to introduce a prepaid Visa travel card in conjuction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007 which can be used to pay hotels and airline tickets.
