India Death Tolls Due To A (H1N1) Increases To 53

India confirmed five more deaths from the deadly influenza A (H1N1) virus on Saturday, taking the total swine flu deaths in the South Asian country to 53, the health ministry said.

India detected 131 more cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Saturday, putting the total number of cases in the country to 2,669, the health ministry said.

Of the 131 new cases testing positive for swine flu, 44 came from New Delhi, 23 from Maharashtra, 21 from Karnataka, 20 from Taminadu, nine from Kerala, five from West Bengal, three from Goa, two each from Haryana and Rajasthan and one each from Chattishgarh and Madhya Pradesh, according to a health ministry press statement.

According to government statistics, 14,187 people have been tested and 2,669 tested positive for Influenza A (H1N1). 834 out of the 14,187 tested were identified through entry screening, 1,911
